Another Time, Another Place (color inks on paper)
This is one my earliest paintings, back when I was experimenting with colore inks. When I say earlier, that would mean that it’s probably older than many of you viewing it.
Perhaps of interest to my future biographer: the yellow/orange plant-thing in the middle right foreground is taken from an even earlier painting, which is my very first acrylic painting and can be viewed here; Alien Plantlife .
As with many of my paintings and drawings, I have no idea where either of these pieces are, or if they indeed still exist at all.

17 have said their bit, now it's your turn:
excellent, a lot going in this, also really like Arboreus a couple of posts back
This is great! Love the angles/lines lights and darks, creating movment around the piece. ~pamela
I really like this, it made me think of this

I have actually never seen it, just seen stills, but here's a little hieronymous bosch in it.
Hey... wait... you did this?
Holy crap, I can't believe it - somebody with ACTUAL TALENT! I would take my hat off to you, but that would require me to reverse-photoshop the hat off my head, which is just too much trouble. But good job!
Wow! This is amazing work!
Wow! Nice job :O

Such an intriguing piece. The colors are wonderful, you sure know how to put them together. This does look a bit like the world of Fantastic Planet, still unique from that.
Now this one is what I call fabuloso!
Took a real close look at it and everything "contained" in this painting is totally awesome...
Get back to work!!!
Trippy piece. I really love the colors and interesting scene. Nice style.
Thanks again for all the comments.
It’s a funny thing about ones own stuff; I pull an old piece out of the junk bin and get more comments than I’ve ever gotten before. Well, almost. The stuff I like the most (or think are best), no one else seems to notice. NB: CharlieCreek does mention Arboreus, which I rather like myself.
I can see the Fantastic Planet connection. That movie made a pretty big impression on me when it came out. Apropos get zapped’s comment – it was a trippy movie. Of course the diverse and sundry controlled substances I most definitely put into myself before viewing it didn’t make it any less so.
Welcome aboard Capt.! No, please don’t take your cap off – how would I be able to tell you apart from the other guy?
This is one of the few large paintings I’ve done with colored inks – the colors are quite brilliant and translucent, but inks are very difficult to control. Or maybe I was just using crappy paper; I can’t quite remember that far back. How far, the People of the Net call out! Nineteen-Seventy-Seven. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away . . .
you are very talented
"The stuff I like the most (or think are best), no one else seems to notice."
I know exactly what you mean. People are freaking bizarre.
Truer words have seldom been uttered, Smack.

Just so you know- Alien Plant Life is in our partially renovated basement in Atlanta being puzzled over by drunk and stoned teenagers probably having conversations about what would it be like to smoke some of those- who says art doesn't make people think and feel
Yo Bro!
Drunk and stoned teenagers in our family? Unheard of. But it's good to know that someone is capable of taking care of my artistic legacy, 'cause I'm sure not.
As for smoking those alien plants; it just made me dizzy, gave me the false munchies and I didn't really inhale anyway.
By the way, what other goodies are you housing down there in your partially renovated basement? Disin't I give you a photo of a bunch of kids hanging out of a Russian train? Wouldn't mind having a copy of that . . .
Yo back at ya- I will carefully go down there and check for forgotten masterpieces- with the jetsom and flotsom of two family houses stored below who knows what the hell might show up- I know that the Russian train is a definete- other early Talgonian treasures a possibility- will let you know
Got a few originals myself. Starting with "Spigler (spelling?) Airport". Got a grand total of 8. I can't name the others, other than "Falling", which you removed recently, and "Intricate". The remaining six (including Spigler) are not shown here.
I can photo and send if you like.
