This is crop, frame, crop frame and so on and so on...
Thus creating the mysterious and intricate labyrinth in which the present, past and future Son of Incogneato wanders and stems from.
Strange occluded glimpses...I just saw the animated film Coraline, this reminds me of a certain child-sized doorway in that film.

How was the Film? I have mixed feelings about Gaiman's work, but don't tell him I said that.
